... is a visual artist and emerging fine art photographer.
"Depending on our point of view,” says Wendy, ”something familiar can suddenly appear strange and mysterious. Buildings, streets, people… It’s the playful eye, the rushing commuter, the way the sunlight moves across a skyscraper... How we ‘see’ in the 21st century, and how we experience time, are very interesting concepts to me.
“What I also find intriguing is who we share public space with… the strangers sitting beside us on a tram or train, or those who walk across roads with us while traffic is at a standstill. Sometimes we are among thousands and barely remember the shape or nuance of anybody.
ARTIST STATEMENT: The idea that there’s always hidden truths and possibilities. That what is seen is not always what is believed. That an angle, a colour, a frame taken from life can alter, even momentarily, our personal experience, our memory, our view of the future.
'By discovering the external world, we have the opportunity to understand more of the internal world that is unique to us all.'
